Influenster L'Oreal Canada Voxbox

Who doesn't love a good mystery? I know I do! Today's post is a haircare related mystery. Recently Influenster teamed up with L'Oreal to provide Influensters with a mystery box. The box contained a mystery shampoo, conditioner and split end serum. Our task was to review the products and guess the brand. A clue we received which may help was that these products contained Phyto-Keratin Complex and Cupucu Butter.

 

There was no question that when I tried these products and I was very happy with the result.  The result was that my hair was shiny, silky and felt conditioned. Also these  products are very yummy smelling. The biggest result I noticed was with my extensions. They were dried out and very dull looking. After applying these products they felt so soft and shiny. These products are rated very highly in my books. In terms of the brand... after some researching and discussion on message boards I believe it is a Garnier Damage Eraser line. I am very excited to receive my reveal package which will solve the mystery of the L'Oreal voxbox.

Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Spa Masque Review

Recently I was sent the Influenster Maple Vox Box. This was the first box Influenster had sent to their Canadian members, so I was excited to be chosen. This box was full of treats and goody's that I an't wait wait to share with you. Today's review is about Montagne Jeunesse Glacial Clay Spa Masque.

 When I opened the masque up I was surprised and happy to see it was a sheet mask. Sheet Masques are my favourite because they super easy and not as messy to apply.  I also loved the smell of this masque it wasn't strong but a very pleasant light smell. I followed the simple instructions on the back and was ready to enjoy my simple spa night.

After patiently waiting 15 minutes, I removed the masque and massaged the clay into my face. After washing it off I realized my face was very soft and felt very refreshed after wearing heavy make-up the past few days. I would recommend this product for the price you are paying for it.  You grab a Montagne Jeunesse Masque, some girlfriends, candles, and some treats and have your own spa night!

Little Bit of Leather

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of posts.  The streets here are covered in snow. We have gotten back to back snowstorms, making it almost impossible to take outfit of the day photos. After shoveling the deck I was able to snap a picture with my new dress from http://www.tbdress.com. I have often stumbled across TBDRESS' ads on facebook and other sites.  I was very excited when they contacted me to  do a review on their clothing. When I saw this leather dress I knew I had to have it. As some of you  may know from previous blog posts I love leather so when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it. I was a bit apprehensive about sizing for these dresses but they are true to size and also a great quality!This dress is perfect for a day look but can also be dressed up for a night.

Club Nail Polish Review

Recently I was given the opportunity to review a new up and coming mail order service called Club Nail Polish. Club Nail Polish is different from  subscription boxes because it is a nail polish of the month club; instead of getting many different samples per month you are awarded with nail polish and a few other goodies. The nail polishes you receive will be a brand name such as: OPI, Essie or China Glaze and they will be a secret as you will not have the option to pick before hand.

Club Nail Polish objective is to provide customers with the experience to try different nail polishes they normally may not and also to receive something exciting in the mail for once instead of bills and junk! I know I would love to be surprised with a pretty package in the mail to brighten up my day. Club Nail Polish will be providing Canadian customers with this little surprise package every month and eventually will expand to the United States.

I was not that happy with my package and had a few concerns. The pricing for this service has not yet been decided on.  Based on my calculations, it could become very pricey. Shipping to my address was $12.58 dollars alone. The price of the shipping alone could provide me with at least one brand name nail polish. Therefore, I am not sure what price Club Nail Polish is looking to charge as brand name nail polishes range from $6.99-10.99. For me to subscribe to Club Nail Polish the total price with shipping would need to be under $8 for it to be worth my while. Also there is the possibility that you could receive a duplicate nail polish that you already have. I would recommend that Club Nail Polish have a questionnaire that would base the nail polish you receive off questions relating to what colors you already have and also what colors would go with your skin type. To be honest, the Alpine Snow color would be a color I would never look at buying simply because white nail polish does not complement my skin tone. Club Nail Polish is a great idea in theory, but lots of things will need to be worked out before this service can run smoothly. May Glossybox Review

This month's Glossybox was a surprise as I arrived home to find it delivered without any shipping notifications. Once again I received the box in the latter end of the month. This month I was pleased with the Glossybox when I opened it to find the following items...

• Curel Foot Cream- $3.99/100ml I tried this cream before I went to bed one night. The next morning my feet felt so much softer, smoother and no signs of any cracked heels. With sandal arriving this was the perfect item to try. I think I would buy this product.
• Simple Eye Make-Up Remover-$9.99/56 ml After a late night out I wanted to get to bed so I quickly used this eye make-up remover and it did the trick.
• Simple Facial Wash Gel-$9.99/ 50 ml This face gel leaves my face feeling hydrated and refreshed after using.
• Boxx Cosmetics Cream Correcter- $24/4 grams I haven't really tried this product yet but on a small spot on my face and it seemed to cover it up.
• Sebastian Professional Volupt Shampoo-$15.78/250ml I tried this shampoo I don't really know if it is suited for my hair type.

Overall, I was happy with my  Glossybox for June. Lot's of products I could use from day to day. I can't wait to get my June box.

Review: HANA AIR PREMIERE HAIR DRYER

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the fabulous beauty company Misikko to review one of their products. The product I received was the HANA hair dryer.

The company was very friendly to deal with. I received my order very quickly even though it had to cross the border! When I received it I was pleasantly surprised to find I did not just receive the hairdryer but lots of other goodies as well. Nail files, Bobbi Brown brushes, roses, shampoo, and a teddy bear were just some of the goodies I received. I immediately fell in love with the HANA hair serum. It provides a shine and acts as a heat tamer.

The hair dryer is very durable. It heats up very quickly. I have very thick hair and my whole head was dry within 15 minutes. Like other hair dryers I have tried this dryer did not make my hair frizzy or dried out, instead it was shiny. I would give this hair dryer a 5/5 as I encountered no problems with it!

Many of you can probably tell from my blog posts that I am a budget shopper. I enjoy finding a deal. Since the world has gone into a recession, things have been difficult for some shoppers. In today's society shoppers are looking for a deal when they buy a product. I know I am one of those shoppers. Shows like TLC's Extreme Couponing have shown just how much money you can actually save by using coupons. Coupons are now not only used at grocery stores but many retailers have stepped up to offer their customers a deal.

Luckily for all you discount friendly shoppers a website has been created for you one stop shop for coupons. Coupon Chief is a online directory that contains online coupons for retailers across the globe. The site has over 50k coupons for over 15000 retailers across the globe. For these retailers you will find coupons for discount codes, free shipping, bogos, and other exclusive offers. It's a very good idea to check out Coupon Chief before you decide to make a purchase so you can receive some savings.

Coupon Chief is very easy to navigate. The site is organized by tags of different types of retailers. The tag I look at most often is the fashion and beauty tags. There are codes for some of my favourite retailers like ASOS, Forever 21, and UrbanOG. The site is very interactive so readers can comment and let others know if the coupon code worked for them. If you own your own business you can set up a page and submit any coupons for any promotions you may be running. One thing readers should be alert about is that some of the codes may have been expired or not currently working so be sure to make sure they are still valid since Coupon Chief doesn't delete some of the older codes.

March is here...

Hey Everyone!
Happy March! I'm so glad it's one month closer to Spring! I can't wait to wear some springy fashions and not have to worry about dressing warm. Today I felt like wearing lot's of color so I decided to wear this teal and orange shirt. I feel like this a casual but very bright outfit.

My nails have Essie Fondola Gondola and the new China Glaze crackle Crushed Candy on. I must say I prefer the OPI crackle/shatter collection to the China Glaze collection. I do not like how it crackles and it's texture. The OPI shatter looks a lot better on and shatters better. I would definitely recommend OPI over China Glaze.

Kardashian Konfidential Book Review

Whether you love'em or hate'em the Kardashians seem to be on every magazine cover, website or television channel you glance at. The family's popularity was definitely shown with their clearance of $65 million dollars in 2010 which is an amazing amount of money for a family to make in one year. One of their money makers was from their new book Kardashian Konfidential. Even though confidential is spelled wrong the girls produced a very entertaining read that I certainly enjoyed.

Kardashian Konfidential provides a very private insight in the girls lives. The peaks and pits of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe's life are discussed in this book. We learn about their idyllic childhood, their teenage struggles, the pain of losing their father Robert Kardashian Sr., Khloe's marriage to Lamar Odem and Kourtney's delivery to her son Mason. Along with this is personal commentary tied in. Sometimes when I was reading I could hear the girls' voices correcting or arguing with each other. The book definitely has a personal vibe, which I enjoyed greatly.

My favourite chapter of the book was the chapter about Kardashian fashion. Just like myself, fashion is a very big influence on the lives of the Kardashians. After all, they currently own 3 DASH boutiques, had a line with Bebe and QVC, and are currently in the works of developing a line with Sears. The girls have become style icons. They are always dressed to impressed and have the most coveted pieces of the season.

The book definitely gives some style inspiration as it is littered with pictures of the girls.

The girls also give some tips which include their staple pieces, how to get the most out of shopping, closet organization and posing. I found all these tips were helpful, but some where common things some of us may already know. I do wish their stylist Monica Rose was mentioned or interviewed. She has a very big influence on the family's wardrobe.

The Verdict...
Kardashian Konfidential was a very fun read. I would definitely recommend it if you are a Kardashian fan. I learned many things I didn't know about the Kardashians. It made me realize even though they are famous the girls seem very down to earth and go through the same problems as everyone else.
Fashion wise the book provides some interesting tips on how you can feel glamorous like a Kardashian. It also provides lots of outfit inspiration.
I hope you enjoy Kardashian Konfidential as much as I did!

Style by Lauren Conrad Book Review

For months fashion mavens and Lauren Conrad fans were counting down the days for Lauren Conrad to finally release her style book Style by Lauren Conrad. How could we not be excited for this book after Lauren's perfectly polished outfits and clothing line at Kohl's.
I bought Style awhile ago, but hadn't had the time to read due to university. Finally I decided to give it a read after waiting two months after I bought it.

Lauren looks gorgeous on the cover.The high fashion bun is a great choice for the cover as it is glam but not over the top and it allows us to be drawn to her face. Lauren's make-up is perfect for a very clean fresh look.Her signature cat lined eyes definitely draw attention. She finishes the look off with a peach blush and lipstick.

The book is very high quality. The whole book is in color. The pages are very thick and I really liked the fonts and colors Lauren used. The book is split into three sections: Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle. Overall, I found the content of the book to be very common sense. I didn't really learn anything new. My favourite thing was probably the pictures of Lauren's outfits. All of them were super cute. I also learned a few tips about posing for pictures,make-up and packing. The guide at the back was very handy for finding out the designers and brands of the clothes Lauren wore in the book.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to update their wardrobe and wanting to learn how to dress more stylish. It's the perfect guide! It is also nice for those who just want a quick read on fashion. Do not expect to find anything revolutionary. I think Lauren did a decent job on assembling this book. The presentation is great, but the content falls a little short. I still do however, admire Lauren's style and I hope she continues to write. (i'm addicted to her L.A. Candy series)
