Club Nail Polish Review

Recently I was given the opportunity to review a new up and coming mail order service called Club Nail Polish. Club Nail Polish is different from  subscription boxes because it is a nail polish of the month club; instead of getting many different samples per month you are awarded with nail polish and a few other goodies. The nail polishes you receive will be a brand name such as: OPI, Essie or China Glaze and they will be a secret as you will not have the option to pick before hand.

Club Nail Polish objective is to provide customers with the experience to try different nail polishes they normally may not and also to receive something exciting in the mail for once instead of bills and junk! I know I would love to be surprised with a pretty package in the mail to brighten up my day. Club Nail Polish will be providing Canadian customers with this little surprise package every month and eventually will expand to the United States.

I was not that happy with my package and had a few concerns. The pricing for this service has not yet been decided on.  Based on my calculations, it could become very pricey. Shipping to my address was $12.58 dollars alone. The price of the shipping alone could provide me with at least one brand name nail polish. Therefore, I am not sure what price Club Nail Polish is looking to charge as brand name nail polishes range from $6.99-10.99. For me to subscribe to Club Nail Polish the total price with shipping would need to be under $8 for it to be worth my while. Also there is the possibility that you could receive a duplicate nail polish that you already have. I would recommend that Club Nail Polish have a questionnaire that would base the nail polish you receive off questions relating to what colors you already have and also what colors would go with your skin type. To be honest, the Alpine Snow color would be a color I would never look at buying simply because white nail polish does not complement my skin tone. Club Nail Polish is a great idea in theory, but lots of things will need to be worked out before this service can run smoothly. I just bought the Nicki Minaj for OPI mini kit. Right now I have Fly on my nails. I love that song so it as only appropriate that I would love the nail polish too. It's the perfect shade of Teal!

Purple Ombre Nails

Hi Everyone,

Lately i've fallen in love with the new ombre nail trend. This look has been seen on Lauren Conrad and many other bloggers. I was inspired by Carlin from Superficial Girls who also did a post on Ombre nails. Since purple is my favourite color and I have lots of purple nail polishes I decided I was going to try purple ombre nails.

The colors I chose in order were OPI Ink, Sally Hansen Salon in Mulberry Wine, L.A. Colors Color Craze in Nuclear Energy, OPI's Parlez-Vous OPI? and Joe Fresh's Faded Violet. Together these colors were perfect for creating perfect purple ombre nails. I really enjoyed this nail look and I can't wait to experiment with some other nail colors.

Katy Perry for OPI... Black Shatter Review

Katy Perry's Collection for OPI has been flying off the stands. The most popular polish of her new collection is Black Shatter. When I seen photos of Black Shatter I knew I needed to get this polish. I went to a few different stores around the city and they were sold-out! I was in luck when I went to the last store on my list and they had it! Black Shatter is one the coolest most fun nail polishes I have ever tried.

I decided to use Black Shatter with OPI's No Room for the Blues from OPI's Bright Collection

My new ring I won from a giveaway!

I would definitely recommend Black Shatter. It is very easy to use. You just add a coat over your regular polish and voila you are left with a cool effect!
For those that are looking for a substitute Barry M and China Glaze have polishes that do the same effect.

Weekend Purchases

So the holidays are over. I didn't get to do much shopping due to the stores being closed, but I did however pick up a few things.

I bought this skirt from Forever 21. While it is very basic, it is very cute. Khaki is a very popular color at the moment due to the military trend. I have some cute outfits ideas for this skirt.

I bought this beautiful nail polish from the Nicole by OPI Gossip Girl collection. I just had to have it because I love Gossip Girl and Nail polish. I'm very excited to try this colour.
