Kardashian Konfidential Book Review

Whether you love'em or hate'em the Kardashians seem to be on every magazine cover, website or television channel you glance at. The family's popularity was definitely shown with their clearance of $65 million dollars in 2010 which is an amazing amount of money for a family to make in one year. One of their money makers was from their new book Kardashian Konfidential. Even though confidential is spelled wrong the girls produced a very entertaining read that I certainly enjoyed.

Kardashian Konfidential provides a very private insight in the girls lives. The peaks and pits of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe's life are discussed in this book. We learn about their idyllic childhood, their teenage struggles, the pain of losing their father Robert Kardashian Sr., Khloe's marriage to Lamar Odem and Kourtney's delivery to her son Mason. Along with this is personal commentary tied in. Sometimes when I was reading I could hear the girls' voices correcting or arguing with each other. The book definitely has a personal vibe, which I enjoyed greatly.

My favourite chapter of the book was the chapter about Kardashian fashion. Just like myself, fashion is a very big influence on the lives of the Kardashians. After all, they currently own 3 DASH boutiques, had a line with Bebe and QVC, and are currently in the works of developing a line with Sears. The girls have become style icons. They are always dressed to impressed and have the most coveted pieces of the season.

The book definitely gives some style inspiration as it is littered with pictures of the girls.

The girls also give some tips which include their staple pieces, how to get the most out of shopping, closet organization and posing. I found all these tips were helpful, but some where common things some of us may already know. I do wish their stylist Monica Rose was mentioned or interviewed. She has a very big influence on the family's wardrobe.

The Verdict...
Kardashian Konfidential was a very fun read. I would definitely recommend it if you are a Kardashian fan. I learned many things I didn't know about the Kardashians. It made me realize even though they are famous the girls seem very down to earth and go through the same problems as everyone else.
Fashion wise the book provides some interesting tips on how you can feel glamorous like a Kardashian. It also provides lots of outfit inspiration.
I hope you enjoy
Kardashian Konfidential as much as I did!

Hearts, Stripes and Bows

I wanted to wear something fun today so I decided to take some of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe and incorporate them into an outfit. This outfit reminded me of something that would have been worn on Gossip Girl when Blair and Serena were in high school.

Lace and Leather

Lace and Leather are two of my favourite. I love how lace makes an outfit look very feminine and how leather adds a bit of edge. Combine the two and you have the perfect mix of feminine edginess. I decided to try this look for a Girls Night Out of clubbing.

Style for the Sole

Over the weekend I did some serious shoe shopping. Every pair of shoes I got I love! I can't wait to create some outfits posts with these babies!
Now onto the best part my new shoes...

Photobucket
Libby Edelman Kendra Flat
I fell in love with these Libby Edelman flats when I laid my eyes on them. I'm not much for flats but I needed to make an exception for these. I think they are super cute. I love the bow, peep toe and the the zebra-like pattern. These shoes are classic and feminine.

Photobucket
Steve Madden Cary Pumps
I have been in love with Glitter pumps for awhile. I almost bought two pairs of Glitter pumps before but the shoes were always too big or small. I think it was meant to be when I found these pumps. They are definitely a piece that will grab your attention. Not only are they extremely glittery but they have 5 inch heel. Thank goodness for the stacked platform to assist in walking.
I knew when I saw these I needed them!

Betsey Johnson Calandra
Betsey Johnson can be counted on for fun and crazy pieces. When I saw these shoes I knew they were Betsey Johnson and would serve the purpose in the future of bringing some fun into my outfit.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Valentines Day is one of my least favourite holidays of the year. My dislike of Valentines Day was reflected in my choice of clothing for today. To rebel against the sea of red and pink I decided to wear my new utility jacket. The only thing related to Valentines Day were my nails. After wearing flat shoes over the weekend, I needed to get back to my usual routine of wearing heels, I also liked how my boots added a bit of glamour to the outfit. My utility jacket is definitely going to become a staples piece for me.

Get Lindsay Lohan's White Dress Look

Lindsay Lohan has once again been stirring headlines. Once again it is related to her legal troubles. This time instead of focusing on profanities written on her nails, everyone is buzzing about the white Kimberly Ovitz dress she wore to court. The 'Glavis' dress has been sold out since she has worn it! Some believe she looked hot and chic, while others believe that the dress was inappropriate to wear to court. I love this look Lindsay wore. I think for once she looks fresh and chic however, I do not think it is the best look to show up to your court hearing in.
Photobucket

I do not recommend wearing this dress to a court appearance but I do recommend it for a night out on the town with your friends. Here are some options of dresses available that remind me of Kimberly Ovitz's sold out Glavis dress.

Pair one of these dresses with your favourite black pumps and you will stylin' like Lilo.

Bringing Some Summer Into Winter

I have been missing Summer lately so bad. To cure my Winter blues I decided to bring some summer into winter. These jean cut-offs were just the perfect amount of summer to bring into Winter. I felt so much better after wearing this outfit!

Silver Sequins

The snow has really been piling up here. We have had a major snowstorm every week since the new year. So it has been hard to dress for the weather. I cannot wait until Spring!

Two spring trends I incorporated in this outfit were flared pants and scarfs. I've seen many models and celebrities rocking both these trends so I decided to incorporate them into my outfit. Flared jeans have appeared in the spring/summer collections of Jason Wu, Tory Burch and Derek Lam. I think I do prefer flared jeans rather than dress pants. So watch out for a style post on those! Hair scarfs have been very popular in the United Kingdom among celebrities and street fashionistas. The hair scarf is a great way to add a fun accessory to your outfit. I used a silver sequined scarf which I thought i'd never wear again as my hair scarf. It did the trick and I will definitely be using it again.

SAG Awards Red Carpet

The Screenwriter's Guild Awards were held on Sunday January 30. This was the second event in the award season. I must say I was disappointed by many of the dresses at the SAG Awards. There seemed to be more misses than hits but a few ladies stood up to the challenge of looking fabulous.

My best dressed award goes to...

2011 SAG Awards
Mila Kunis
She looked amazing in this printed Alexander McQueen Dress. I love how she took the risk and wore this dress, it definitely paid off. Mila has definitely not disappointed during this award season.

Some other fabulously dressed ladies:

2011 SAG Awards Pictures, Images and Photos
Tina Fey looking red hot in Oscar de la Renta

2011 SAG Awards
Kim Kardashian in looking au-natural (for her) in a beautiful Marchesa dress

2011 SAG Awards Pictures, Images and Photos
Sofia Vergara showing off her curves in a beautiful blue Cavalli dress.

Next up is the Oscars! I cannot wait to see what beautiful gowns will be worn. Some of the actresses have impressed so much over this award season I don't know how much better they can get.

Who was your favourite at the SAG Awards?
