Katy Perry for OPI... Black Shatter Review

Katy Perry's Collection for OPI has been flying off the stands. The most popular polish of her new collection is Black Shatter. When I seen photos of Black Shatter I knew I needed to get this polish. I went to a few different stores around the city and they were sold-out! I was in luck when I went to the last store on my list and they had it! Black Shatter is one the coolest most fun nail polishes I have ever tried.

I decided to use Black Shatter with OPI's No Room for the Blues from OPI's Bright Collection

Here is the result:

My new ring I won from a giveaway!

I would definitely recommend Black Shatter. It is very easy to use. You just add a coat over your regular polish and voila you are left with a cool effect!
For those that are looking for a substitute Barry M and China Glaze have polishes that do the same effect.
What do you think of Black Shatter? Will you be buying it?

Introducing... Miss Patina

I love surfing the internet and finding new designers and shops so when I stumbled upon this online shop I fell in love. I first discovered Miss Patina after seeing a fellow Chictopian wearing a beautiful skirt that caught my attention. I learned the skirt was from a brand called Miss Patina so I quickly typed it into google and ended up with the website.

Miss Patina describes themselves on their website as "A London brand, created by a design team graduated from London College of Fashion. Inspired by vintage fashion as well as latest trends, Miss Patina brings an individual lifestyle of being retro and stylish at the same time." This proves to be true! The clothes are gorgeous!

Here are some of my favourite pieces

Smart Contrast Color Dress with Black Collar

Party Queen Lace Front Silky Dress

70s Inspired Loose Fitting Lace Trim Silky Dress

Frill Collar Drawstring Playsuit

Glamourous Night- Homemade Bow Necklace

I love how every piece is girlie and has a vintage feel but also keeps with modern trends. The Miss Patina team is definitely very talented and I can't wait to see more of their designs!

You can check out Miss Patina at their website http://misspatina.bigcartel.com

I hope everyone enjoys these designs as much as I do!

Are we in the Emerald City? No it's the Golden Globes

The Golden Globes were held on Sunday, January 16th. Everyone showed up to impress. I fell in love with a number of the gowns. One of my favourite trends at the Golden Globes was the green trend. All the ladies looked stunning in their emerald and jade gowns. My favourite out of the green ladies were Mila and Catherine's gowns. I love jewel tones and they proved to be a great choice as everyone is buzzing about the dresses.

Emerald Green is not just reserved for the Golden Globes so why don't you try out the trend? Here are some cute and mid priced options so you can shine in emerald.

Emerald made me think of The Wizard of OZ and Wicked hence the reason for the title. hehehe
Who was your favourite at the Golden Globes?
Would you wear Emerald?

Blake Lively in Marchesa

Blake Lively looked fabulous in a purple Marchesa dress at The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Award Gala. She has really been spot on lately with her outfits. Marchesa dresses are always gorgeous and this one does not disappoint. The shade of the dress is beautiful along with the shoulder detailing which is very hot right now. I never would have thought to accessorize a purple dress with aqua colored jewelery, but Blake makes it work. It is definitely something I will be trying out next time I wear purple. The only part of the outfit I was disappointed with was her shoes as I probably would have gone for a shoe without a t-strap as I find it shortens legs. Blake definitely gets an A+ from me for a fabulous outfit.

The holidays may be over, but why not recreate Blake's look for a night out.

Rihanna inspired OOTN

Hey Everyone,

Last night I went to my friend's housewarming party and to the bar after. I wanted to wear something cute and trendy so I decided to create an outfit inspired by Rihanna who was snapped wearing this outfit in London in 2010. I really like denim shirts because you can dress them up or down.

I decided to put my own spin on this outfit.

Trend Alert... Snoods

How to beat the winter blues? Try a snood. The Snood has been around for a while but has recently became extremely popular. The snood outbreak could be due to the amount of good looking footballers recently spotted wearing them during the English cold snap and also due to some other famous faces wearing them. The snood is fashionable way to stay warm.

I really like snoods. I received one for Christmas and it keeps me extremely warm. I hate taking it off because my neck is so cold without it. Plus they look really cute.

What do you think of snoods? Yay or Nay?
Will you be rocking a snood?

Auld Lang Syne

Happy New Years Everyone!

I am happy but yet sad for 2010 to be over. Some of the things I loved about 2010 were:the World Cup in South Africa, getting in shape, zumba, laying in the sunshine and of course starting this blog!

My New Years plans included going to a huge party. Everyone was dressed in Red, White and Black. It was lots of fun. I really enjoyed trying a classic look with a LBD, pearls and red lipstick.
